If you manage the Instagram account for a hotel, this page explains whether we cover your property, what we look at, and how to ask us to stop.
We’ve written it in plain English on purpose. If anything here is unclear, or you’d rather just talk to a person, email neil@hotelcontentradar.com.
What Hotel Content Radar is
Hotel Content Radar is a subscription tool for people who manage social media for hotels. It tracks the publicly visible Instagram performance of a curated list of luxury properties, highlights posts that have performed unusually well against that property’s own normal engagement, and turns those into a library of content inspiration for other hospitality marketers.
It is made by High Elm Studio, the trading name of High Elm Productions Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 15336186, registered office 6 The Fairland, Hingham, Norfolk NR9 4HN. We are registered with the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office, registration number ZC112391.
What we look at
Only what is already public on your Instagram profile:
- your public posts, and the captions on them
- the public like and comment counts on those posts
- the date each post was published
- your public follower count and account name
We use those numbers to work out what is normal for your account, so we can spot posts that did unusually well for you. That comparison is the whole point of the product.
What we don’t do
- We do not have access to any private Instagram data. We cannot see your reach, impressions, saves or shares, and none of our figures include them.
- We do not collect information about the individual people who run your account beyond what is already visible on the public profile.
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not claim any relationship with you. Hotel Content Radar is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Instagram, Meta, Forbes, Condé Nast, Michelin, Design Hotels, or any of the hotels, publications or rating organisations it references.
Why we do it
Our lawful basis for this under UK data protection law is legitimate interests. In plain terms: we are analysing information that is already public, for a narrow business purpose — helping hospitality marketers understand what content works — and we’ve weighed that against the interests of the accounts we cover. We think the balance is reasonable, and we’ve written down our reasoning. If you’d like to see it, ask.
If you disagree with that balance for your own property, you don’t have to argue the point with us. Just ask to be removed, and we will remove you.
Ask to be removed
Email neil@hotelcontentradar.com with your property name and your Instagram handle.
We will:
- remove your property from Hotel Content Radar
- delete the post data we hold for your account
- add your account to a permanent exclusion list, so it is never added again by mistake
- confirm back to you when it’s done
We aim to do this within five working days, and we won’t ask you to justify the request.
Copyright and takedown

We will review and, where appropriate, remove it promptly.
Your rights
Where we hold personal information, you have rights under UK data protection law — including to access it, correct it, delete it, and object to how we use it. To exercise any of these, email neil@hotelcontentradar.com. We’ll respond within the timeframe required by law, usually one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk.
